The Atlanta Library History Project is Coming!

More than 2,500 Carnegie library buildings were built between 1881 and 1919. About 165 of those were in the State of Indiana, and about half of those have either been torn down or are no longer being used as a library. The Atlanta Branch library was built in 1916. As we approach the 100-year mark, we want to put together something special to celebrate the centennial. The first step is to see who is interested in sharing their stories, pictures and memorabilia to show what it was like "back in the day". These items and narrative do not need to be limited to the library. If you have something to share about this area (Atlanta, Arcadia, Cicero) it would be welcome. We're hoping to have something published. You, your friends and family could be a part of that. Join us for our first gathering. We'll be meeting at the Atlanta Branch library on Tuesday, January 11th at 6pm and will continue meeting the 2nd Tuesday of every month at the same time (6pm). Light refreshments provided.

Walk-Away-the-Pounds is Back!

If you are ready to start the new year right, join the group in the Atlanta Branch basement for their first session on Thursday, January 20th at 6pm. We will be once again using Leslie Sansone's "Walk-Away-the-Pounds" video. Bring your walking shoes. There is no cost for this event.
